WIG AND CONCESSIONS: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
All wigs purchased to compensate for hair loss, whether due to congenital alopecia, dermatological causes, or following cancer treatment, have a cost, sometimes very high. A patient often not only faces a worrying clinical situation but also has to deal with the resulting financial expenses.
We at Wiglove know this well, and precisely for this reason, we want to inform you about a whole range of benefits currently available that will help you save a little on the purchase of a wig medical device.

ARE ALL WIGS MEDICAL DEVICES?
No. Wigs classified as ‘medical devices’ have the CE mark, and the retailer is required to specify it on the product sheet of each item sold online.
This does not mean that there are A and B grade wigs. All our models, in fact, can be used during the hair loss period without any problems or risks.
This mark, in the case of wigs, plays an important role for the customer who, upon presentation of medical documentation certifying the condition for which this product is used, can benefit from all the tax benefits offered by the region and the State.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PURCHASING A ‘MEDICAL DEVICE’ WIG?
The main advantages are three:
-tax benefit: on our website it is possible to purchase a medical device wig with the reduced rate from 22% to 4%
-regional contributions: each region provides a per capita amount to facilitate the purchase of a CE wig, intended for all oncology patients. Only some Italian regions have allocated funds for the purchase of a CE wig for those suffering from congenital or dermatological alopecia.
-tax deduction: being a medical device in every respect, the wig can be deducted at the time of income tax declaration, keeping the fiscal receipt or invoice, and having paid it with a traceable payment method.

TAX BENEFIT ON THE WIGLOVE WEBSITE: HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you have spotted a model bearing the CE mark, before placing the order, contact us:
HOW TO CONTACT US VIA E-MAIL OR PHONE
The prices on our website, in fact, all include VAT at 22%.
When you speak with our operators, indicate the model and any desired accessories. You will be asked for a medical certificate from a specialist operating in a public facility or recognized by the National Health System, certifying the condition for which the use of a wig is recommended.
The medical certificate is valid for 1 year and can be used multiple times. We will archive it and check its validity at the time of subsequent orders. We are very attentive to privacy! No one outside our staff will have access to this type of sensitive data.
Afterwards, we will ask you for some personal data, so that we can send you your order with the modified price via e-mail. You can then proceed with the payment in the form you prefer among those available on our website.
All payment methods you find on our website are traceable and all your orders will include an invoice suitable for requesting the benefits we will discuss in the following points.
Once the certificate has expired, it will be up to the customer to present one with an updated date.

REGIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS: HOW TO REQUEST THEM, WHAT ARE THE PROCEDURES
At the moment there is no national regulation that uniformly governs the contributions for CE wigs that patients have to purchase: each region follows self-imposed rules; moreover, the allocated funds vary from year to year.
Depending on the territory where you reside, you will find all the updated information on the official website of the region of belonging or on the website of the competent ASLs.
The required documents vary from region to region, but in general, it is good to prepare these:
-RESIDENCE IN THE REGION
-LEGAL AGE
-ISEE currently valid
-MEDICAL CERTIFICATE certifying the pathology for which a wig or prosthesis is purchased
-IDENTITY CARD and TAX CODE
-FISCAL RECEIPT OF THE WIG purchased with a traceable payment method.
WARNING: some regions allocate this amount either as a percentage of the initial expense incurred, or as a fixed sum, or as a ONE-TIME sum. Conditions must be verified.
For the case of dermatological or congenital alopecia, only some regions provide assistance to citizens. Through regional online channels or the online channels of the various ASLs, you can find out about the amount allocated and the parameters to be met to be able to request it.
There may be restrictions for submitting the application: for example, alopecia must affect more than 80% of the head, in the case of Emilia. Conditions must be verified.

TAX DEDUCTION: WHICH DOCUMENTS TO PRESENT?
The Revenue Agency established, with resolution no. 9/E of February 16, 2010, that the wig is a deductible healthcare expense (19 percent Irpef deduction, pursuant to art. 15, paragraph 1, letter c, of the TUIR), if it serves to remedy an aesthetic damage caused by a pathology and to alleviate psychological discomfort: the wig is therefore to be considered a medical device in all respects.
The tax deduction takes place during the income tax return, by presenting the correct documentation, namely:
1) The fiscal document proving the purchase of the wig, in which the tax code of the person undergoing chemotherapy treatment or suffering from severe alopecia must be indicated;
2) The medical documentation certifying the treatments to which the person who purchased the wig for which the deduction is requested is subjected.
