How is a wig made? What type of wig do I need?
Whether you're looking for a human hair wig or a synthetic wig, you'll find yourself choosing the internal construction that's best for you . The materials used and the type of workmanship will make a difference in both the final result and the price of the wig.
Let's start from two fundamental fixed points:
1. The price of a wig will increase as the number of hand-made parts increases.
2. You don't always need the most sought-after features on the market
Let's now look at the various types of wig construction.
100% MACHINE MADE WIG
This is a type of inexpensive wig that must be constructed with great care and attention to ensure it is as realistic as possible. This type of construction generally has more volume and a perma-tease.
You won't be able to part your hair anywhere, so we don't recommend flattening your hair too much.
Here is the collection of wigs made entirely by machine.

MONOFILAMENT SWIRRY WIG
Typically used on wigs with bangs or forward-swept hairstyles . Useful for reducing volume and adding direction. However, you can't create a side parting; you can simply start the hair from the swirl.
Here is the collection of wigs with monofilament on the swirl.
HAND-PARTED WIG - LEFT OR CENTER PARCEL
These wigs are usually parted on the left or center and can have more or less volume depending on the brand. If you have a right parting, it's best to look for wigs with an entirely hand-made top section (monofilament) so you can move the parting.
They are a favorite choice for those who don't like changing their parting (let's face it, 80% of us always have our hair on the same side) but want a hand-made area that makes it look like the hair is growing right from their own head .
The effect is extremely natural and can be perfected, especially in the case of wigs with dark or brown roots, with a little powder.
This is one of the types of wigs with the best quality/price ratio.

HANDMADE TOP WIG - FREE PARTING
Here we'll find the entire upper section in monofilament and we'll have the option of parting wherever we prefer . The effect will be among the most natural, both in terms of volume and hair movement .

Some wigs may have a double monofilament to meet the needs of those with very sensitive skin , however the wig will be more voluminous on the top of the head.

WIG WITH MACHINED BACK

The "open" solution at the back is one of the most common on the market, particularly suitable for those who need a cool and breathable wig, highly recommended to wear especially in the hot seasons .
The mesh will allow air to pass through easily, keeping your head cool and comfortable.
Machine-made, coated wigs have a slightly less stretchy feel and are recommended for those seeking greater fullness or structure in their construction, sacrificing a little lightness.
100% HANDMADE WIG
The handmade construction is the most sought after and the most valuable , particularly recommended if you wear the wig for many hours or if you have sensitive skin.
The scalp effect is generalized across the entire head , and you can style your hair however you like, moving the strands in any direction. Since the hair is sewn individually, you'll also get a cut with less overall volume .
In some cases, you can also find non-slip inserts , so that the wig feels stable and secure when worn.
Caution: this type of construction is also very delicate (and not exactly cheap), so we recommend care and delicacy when using hairpins and sharp accessories, so as not to pierce the tulle and ruin the wig.

LACE FRONT - NATURAL HAIRLINE

Wigs may or may not have a lacefront , which is a transparent tulle insert positioned at the wig's hairline , to ensure a very natural effect and the possibility of combing your hair back without revealing the edges of the cap.
It's not always available, especially when the cut includes thick bangs or a quiff that sits close to the face. In these cases, we can find non-slip fabric or polyurethane. However, we often recommend a lacefront wig for those looking for their very first wig, so they feel more comfortable.
Here is a selection of our LACEFRONT wigs.
CONCLUSION :
Choosing the right wig construction is a crucial step in achieving the desired look. Each option has its own unique characteristics, and the choice will depend on your personal preferences, comfort needs, and the nature of the activities you intend to perform with the wig.
